Dude! I got into that when I was in HS. I made so many of them, and lost many haha. Multiple boosters, 2 and 3 stage, cameras, altimeters, accelorometers, good times.

I did some rocket building when I was a kid in the 80s, and it was 100% limited to — at most — single-stage D engine stuff. It is UNREAL how much rocket a hobbyist can build with enough time and money. I’ve seen a few H-motor and I-motor launches ... those are cool, but this is mindblowing. A little Internet poking shows me that the O-25,000 motor he uses here is several thousand dollars. Punching a hole in the sky ain’t cheap.

Oh yeah it gets exponentially more expensive as the size and power climbs. Was looking into the hybrid motor stuff for a while. If I had some extra time and space in my garage, I would love to try that.
